Julian is the Global Head of Energy and Power at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, leading the development of the firm’s business in this sector around the world. Responsible for the corporate and investment banking coverage of the sector, he most recently led the team that advised Shell on its successful $63bn takeover of BG.
Julian joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2010, after over 2 decades at Citigroup. Latterly as Chairman, CEEMEA region, he was responsible for the firm’s business in Russia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He is married and lives in Fulham with his wife and five children. All five of whom were born prematurely at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Two are autistic and one has cerebral palsy.
Julian and his wife, Fiona, are Founding Donors of Borne, as well as having personally funded and helped grow the music therapy department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital over several years.
Extremely dedicated to his charitable work, Julian is also a current Trustee of I Can, the children’s communication charity, and has previously sat on the Board of Create, an arts and music charity for the disadvantaged and disabled.
