Borne’s investment in medical researchBorne intends to:
- Build on our core research partnership with Imperial College and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital to create a pre-eminent pregnancy research centre striving to improve the pregnancy outcomes for mothers and babies through knowledge and innovations discovered by Borne’s team of scientists and clinicians.
- Support independent research and global collaboration with other preterm birth centres of excellence to catalyse the research effort in this field.
- Establish a network of satellite research centres in low to middle income countries like Africa where the rates of preterm birth are far higher, and the need for effective clinical interventions even more pressing.
- Translate Borne-funded discoveries into patient benefit and develop best practices in obstetrics by providing research-based education targeting those women who are currently not recognised to be at high risk of preterm birth.
