Award conditions and monitoring

The terms and conditions of an award differ for each grant scheme.  The research contracts are drawn up individually once the grants have been awarded.

As a research charity, we have a duty to ensure the outputs of the research we fund are communicated openly and widely to our donors, supporters and public. Borne collects data on research progress and outcomes to ensure our research strategy to detect, treat and reduce preterm birth is effective, and to help us evaluate the positive difference our funding is making.

We support fundamental and clinical scientific research that seeks to deepen our knowledge of the biological processes of pregnancy and labour with the over-arching purpose of improving the detection, treatment and prevention of spontaneous preterm birth.

All grant holders are expected to report informally to the Scientific Advisory Board on the progress of their project as requested.
