For the second year running Borne took part in the UK’s largest match funding campaign – the Big Give Christmas Challenge, where for one week only, any donations that were made between £1 and £25,000 were matched.
One donation, twice the impact
Before the live campaign began, we secured £62,500 in our match pot, generously donated by our major donors and our champion, The EQ Foundation. Our goal was £125,000 and we went on to raise a total of £136,574!
The money raised will help progress the feasibility study for Borne’s Uterine Mapping Project (BUMP). A global team of preterm birth experts working towards creating an open access cell atlas of the uterus to advance our understanding of labour, and identify new interventions to delay or prevent preterm labour.
Raising awareness
Our incredible Patrons and Ambassadors helped promote the campaign and spread the word by sharing their stories on social media and enabling us reach a wider audience.
We would like to thank everyone who donated and made sure we unlocked all of the match-funding within the seven days. Our Chairman, Julian Mylchreest, kept the campaign going once we reached our target, generously offering to continue matching any donations over our target. We would like to thank Julian for helping us to go above and beyond in this years Christmas campaign.
Preterm birth is the leading cause of childhood death and disability worldwide. The funds raised will take us one step closer to finding the answers and changing the lives of mothers and babies around the world.
With special thanks to our Champions and Pledgers
