Yuhui Choe
First Soloist
Born in Fukuoka, she trained with Daini Kudo and with Dominique Khalfouni. She won Silver Medal at the Paris International Dance Competition (2000), and in 2002 won First Prize and the Contemporary Dance Prize at the Prix de Lausanne, becoming an Apprentice with The Royal Ballet.
She joined the Company in 2003, promoted to First Soloist, 2008.
Her repertory includes Olga, Sugar Plum Fairy, Lise, Nikiya, Gamzatti, Cinderella, Princess Florine, Alice, Princess Aurora, Pupil (The Lesson), Young Girl (Two Pigeons) and roles in other classical, heritage and contemporary works.
She created roles in Infra, Limen, ‘Fire’ (Homage to The Queen), DGV: Danse à grande vitesse and As One. She won a National Dance Award (2008).
