Tax-Efficient Giving

Make your gift worth more...

Gift Aid adds 25% to your donation. As a higher-rate taxpayer you can reclaim the difference between the 20% to the 45% tax rate, thus reducing the actual cost to you of your donation as shown here.

As a UK tax payer and a higher-rate taxpayer, your donation might be worth more than you think and cost you less than you think. Here’s how:

DECLARATION
I understand that I if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations, it is my responsibility to pay any difference. I understand that the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give in the future, or have given in the last four tax years.
Please notify Borne if you:
  • want to cancel your declaration
  • change your name or home address
  • no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
